Distance was formed from the ashes of Oldham (Near Manchester, UK)’s premium Alternative folk / rock band W@ in 2004. It is a band that moves away from the ashes of W@’s experimental Nick Cave leanings heading into more of a post rock experimental sound with tracks going on for as long as the mood strikes, rejecting structure, form and length which explains why on their first album ‘Distance’ (2005) – it is only made up of two tracks – two incredibly long, long tracks – Both nearly 30 minutes long and both recorded live with the rain adding a extra dimension to things. The sound has been described as close to Flying Saucer Attack or early Third Eye Foundation varying to bursts of Bardo Pond.. Distance (on this recording) is Andy N – Keyboards Tony – Bass Rain – Rain
